Rudy Leonard Avila

Arrested in Pulaski County, AR on April 23, 2014

A 19-year-old Little Rock man tried to leave a local Wal-Mart with a stolen BB gun, but ended up striking a security officer with the weapon and then throwing it at him, authorities said.

Rudy Avila Jr. was booked into the Pulaski County jail Wednesday night on a charge of robbery. He remained there Thursday morning with bail set at $15,000.

According to a Little Rock police report, Avila "stole a BB gun by cutting it out of the packaging" and then attempted to leave the store.

He was confronted by an asset protection officer, at which point Avila struck the officer in the mouth with the gun and then threw it at the officer's head, the report said. It did not note whether the officer was injured.

Avila is due in court April 30.

Might send the kid to LAX for protection service. If I recall correctly' there was a serious situation out there where airport security finally took down a high security risk by shooting him numerous times and he servived. Evidently in CA security is only allowed BB guns.. In CA they must use BB guns.
