‘Less fussy’ rye arrived in U.S. with Scots-Irish

Eight or nine years ago, when I first set out to write about rye in this column, you couldn’t find it in a lot of local liquor stores. In the larger ones, you might find a dusty bottle of Old Overholt (a fine product) or, slightly less often, Jim Beam Rye (the one with the yellow label) but that was about it.
