3 deputies hurt in White County accident

MOUNTAIN HOME — Three Baxter County sheriff's deputies have been injured in a rear-end collision in White County.

Radio station KTLO reported that the deputies were injured Sunday evening when the patrol car they were in was struck by a second vehicle.

The deputies were traveling to the Law Enforcement Training Academy in Camden. Their car had stopped at about 7:30 p.m. to provide assistance at the scene of an accident they encountered near Searcy in White County when the collision occurred.

Baxter County Sheriff John Montgomery said Cpl. Selena Johnson, who works at the county jail, was taken by ambulance to a hospital in White County. The other two deputies, Jail Administrator Danielle Campfield and Deputy Sherry Lewis, were also examined at the hospital after the collision.
