President Barack Obama speaks before participating in the signing of major commercial agreements with American businesses at the Ritz-Carlton in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on Monday, April 28, 2014.

MANILA, Philippines — President Barack Obama is sending his deepest condolences to those affected by a deadly tornado that ripped through Arkansas and has directed federal resources to the area.

The White House said Obama is sending Craig Fugate, the Federal Emergency Management Agency administrator, to Arkansas "to ensure the appropriate federal resources are being brought to bear to support the state and local efforts."

Obama telephoned Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe to get an update on the situation and to see whether other federal resources were needed. The president also praised the heroic efforts of first responders and neighbors.

Yeah, we don't want any federal aid here. Tell the government to keep their money.

Not a time to be flippant. At least 17 people are dead. Let's take the help for them and their families wherever it is available.

The Cliven Bundy's of Arkansas have spoken. it shows the ignorance of these Arkansasans, they let their hate show the Nation what we are made of in Arkansas. These people make me want to puke on them.

It's a shame that HM2, nlrar, po and others would rather see Arkansas fail than be a part of a strong and united America.

And all this over a mocha man in the White House!

(Oh sure...they'll deny that motivation, but we know better.)

I keep saying that if Obama found a cure for cancer, there would be some who would castigate him for adding to the population explosion. When the hate is deep enough, there is absolutely nothing for which the haters, the Obama Derangement Syndrome bunch, will not try to slam him. Here he is pledging aid for our neighbors at a time of tragedy, just like all presidents do at times of natural disasters, and there are a few who want to use it as an opportunity to throw bricks. I just cannot comprehend that depth of hatred toward any president, no matter how much you "disagree with his policies". How can you hate Obama so much that you would deny help to your neighbors after this tornado tragedy?
