Police ID man in officer-involved shooting

Little Rock police have identified the man who shot at police officers Monday afternoon after he was served with two warrants.

Kordarrell Brewer, 26, pulled out a weapon and began shooting when he saw members of the Police Department’s violent-criminal apprehension team arrive about 5:10 p.m. at 12 Valley Drive, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported.

The officers returned fire and Brewer fled on foot, police spokesman Lt. Sidney Allen said.

The officers apprehended Brewer moments later in the neighborhood. He was taken to a hospital for an injury unrelated to the shooting, Allen said.

Brewer was taken into custody on the warrants charging him with first-degree battery and possession of a firearm by a certain person, and later was charged with three counts of criminal attempt to commit capital murder, Allen said in an email Tuesday.
