Cedarville finances probed by state police

CEDARVILLE — Arkansas State Police are investigating allegations about the possible misuse of city money in Cedarville.

State police Lt. Jason Aaron told the Southwest Times Record that documents and evidence were seized several weeks ago through a search warrant.

A special prosecutor has been assigned to handle the case. Crawford County Prosecuting Attorney Marc McCune said he recused from the case because of personal conflicts.

McCune said the investigation involves allegations about a former city official. No arrests have been made.

Cedarville Mayor Glenanna O'Mara said the city is fully cooperating with investigators.
