Bids approved for Pulaski County road projects

The state Highway Commission has approved bids for multiple road-improvement projects in Pulaski County, according to Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department officials.

• McGeorge Contracting Company, Inc. of Pine Bluff was awarded a contract at $13,383,442 to add an interchange ramp from southbound Interstate 430 to the I-30 westbound frontage road and to relocate the I-30 westbound ramp that serves Otter Creek Road and west Mabelvale. The project, set to begin in two to four weeks, is scheduled to be completed by spring of 2015.

• Redstone Construction Group of Little Rock was awarded a contract at $65,144,702.59 to reconstruct 8.2 miles of I-530 between I-30 and Bingham Road. The project will begin in two to four weeks and is expected to be complete by fall of 2015.

• Cranford Construction Company of North Little Rock was awarded a contract at $392,457,64 to resurface 3.1 miles of county roads. The resurfacing project includes sections of Chicot, Green and Geyer Springs roads, as well as Geyer Springs Cutoff. Work will begin in two to four weeks and will be complete by Oct. 15.
