LITTLE ROCK — Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department officials say traffic on Interstate 40 in St. Francis County will be detoured while a bridge is removed.
The department said crews will begin removing a bridge on Arkansas 38 this week.
Traffic will be diverted across the Arkansas 38 ramps from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. starting Tuesday. Traffic will cross Arkansas 38 and be placed back on I-40 using the existing entrance ramp.
This diversion of traffic will allow crews to begin the removal of the existing bridge structure on Arkansas 38.
The work is to be completed by 5 a.m. Friday.
