Mortar training to occur Thursday at Camp Robinson

Soldiers receiving certification for mortar training will participate in mortar live-fire training Thursday on the northeast side of Camp Joseph T. Robinson in North Little Rock.

Officials said the training will take place between 1 p.m. and 11 p.m. near Cato and south of Arkansas 89.

The sound of the mortar fire will carry outside of Camp Robinson’s perimeter and could “potentially cause concern in the surrounding area,” a news release states.

The communities of Cato, Mayflower, Runyon Acres, Gravel Ridge and Oak Grove might be able to hear or feel effects from the training.
