Woman accused of trying to run over baby's father

A Little Rock woman is accused of attempting to run over with a vehicle the father of her child, authorities said.

Joyce Anne Jones, 31, was arrested about 5:40 p.m. Monday at 3919 Pine Cone Drive on charges of aggravated assault on a family or household member and possession of a firearm by certain persons, both Class D felonies.

According to a Little Rock Police Department arrest report, Jones and the 38-year-old father of her baby got into an argument before Jones tried to run him over with her vehicle. The report did not indicate that anyone was injured.

Police responded and found Jones had a revolver despite a felony conviction that prohibits her from possessing one, the report added. Online court records show Jones in 2006 was convicted in Pulaski County of first-degree battery.

Jones remained in the Pulaski County jail Tuesday morning with bail not yet set. She has a court date scheduled Monday.
