Man arrested in NLR fatal shooting of teen

A man suspected in the fatal shooting of a teenager in North Little Rock was arrested Wednesday morning, authorities said.

North Little Rock police say 51-year-old Keith Charles Jones was arrested without incident at his home in Scott about 7 a.m.

Jones is charged in the death of Charles Lamont Boyd, who on July 15 was found with a gunshot wound in his chest in the 1500 block of West 15th Street. He was taken to UAMS Medical Center, where he died.

A second shooting victim was treated and released. Police said previously that they believe both men were shot on the front porch of 1321 W. 13th St.

Jones is facing charges of first-degree murder, first-degree battery, being a felon in possession of a handgun and aggravated assault. The assault charge was added, police said, because investigators determined a third person who was not shot was also on the porch.

No information on the motive or how Jones was linked to the crime was released. A police spokesman did not immediately return a message seeking additional information.

Authorities said Jones was being held without bail, though he was not yet listed online as an inmate at the Pulaski County jail.
