Texarkana man gets 14 years in meth case

TEXARKANA — A Texarkana gang member has been sentenced to more than 14 years in federal prison for methamphetamine possession.

The Texarkana Gazette reported that 32-year-old Keith Lemorris Jones was sentenced Wednesday morning. The judge ordered Jones to end his association with members of the Gangster Disciples street gang.

Authorities say cleaners at a Texarkana hotel called police when they found Jones passed out in a hotel room. Police who responded found marijuana, a .38-caliber revolver and at least 50 grams of meth in Jones' pocket. He was indicted in November for charges of possession with intent to distribute meth.

Jones has prior felony convictions for robbery and aggravated assault. The judge sentenced jones to 14 years and seven months in federal prison.
