BEEBE — An Arkansas woman was sentenced Wednesday to six years of probation after she admitted having sex with a 15-year-old she met while substitute teaching.
The Daily Citizen reports that 27-year-old Melissa J. Stevens of Beebe pleaded guilty to fourth-degree sexual assault as part of a deal with White County prosecutors. She also must pay a $1,000 fine and register as a sex offender.
Police in Beebe say they got a call in December from a 15-year-old boy who said he'd had sex with Stevens in a home.
A sheriff's detective says she spoke with a different 15-year-old boy who confirmed that the encounter happened at his house.
