A 21-year-old Crossett man was killed Thursday night after his motorcycle hit a cow, authorities said.

Arkansas State Police say Ethan Brantley was riding a 2009 Kawasaki east on Ashley County Road 7 in Crossett about 11:30 p.m. when the motorcycle hit a cow.

Brantley was thrown from the vehicle. He died from unspecified injuries.

Conditions at the time were described as clear and dry.

The death marked the 260th fatality in a traffic accident in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
