100 years ago Aug. 9, 1914 At a meeting of Omer B. Weaver camp, United Confederate Veterans, yesterday afternoon, a movement was started to erect a memorial at the Arkansas capitol to the negro slaves of the state who so faithfully guarded the families and property of their masters who were at the front fighting for the Confederacy.
