Mystery-Writing Course
HOT SPRINGS — The Garland County Library Writers College will offer a course focused on the basics of mystery writing from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Aug. 20 and 27. The class, Twisting a Mystery, will be taught by Sylvia Dickey Smith. Topics will include creating an intriguing premise, a crime scenario, a plot, clues, red herrings, misdirection and other basics of the mystery-writer’s craft. HOT SPRINGS — The Hot Springs Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 6 p.m. in the Hot Springs City Hall Board Chambers, 133 Convention Blvd. Land-use requests will be heard for the following properties: Central Storage, 4252 Central Ave.; the north side of Twin Points Road, Forest Lakes rezone of tracts A and B; the north side of Twin Points Road, Forest Lakes rezone of tract F; and the south side of Twin Points Road, Forest Lakes rezone tracts C, D and E.
