A 31-year-old Little Rock woman is accused of cutting her caregiver with a steak knife during an altercation Sunday.
Joy Agbomi was arrested on a charge of second-degree domestic battery.
According to a Little Rock Police Department report, the 34-year-old victim is Agbomi's caregiver through Arkansas Enterprises for the Developmentally Disabled. The report says Agbomi is "bipolar schizo affective" and has "a history of stabbing people."
The victim told authorities they returned to Agbomi's apartment about noon after attending church when Agbomi "got angry" over the way the caregiver was speaking to her, the report said.
"[The victim] advised Ms. Agbomi yelled 'I am 31 years old, you do not need to treat me like a child!" police wrote in the report. "At this point ... Ms. Agbomi pulled a steak knife from her purse that [the victim] was unaware of and came at her, cutting her chest."
The caregiver was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center for treatment of the chest wound, described as a "severe laceration," as well as a bite on her knee and a cut on her hand suffered in a scuffle after the initial cutting, the report said.
Agbomi, who declined medical attention for minor wounds, was booked into the Pulaski County jail, where she remained Monday with bail not yet set.
A police spokesman did not immediately have additional information about Agbomi's criminal history.
