LITTLE ROCK — Democratic candidate for Arkansas attorney general Nate Steel says he wants funding for more drug courts across the state as a way to keep down the number of people the state keeps in prison.

Steel spoke Tuesday to the Political Animals Club in Little Rock. He's running against Republican Leslie Rutledge.

Steel told the group that he wants the attorney general's office to further emphasize enforcement of cyber crimes laws that protect children and laws against human trafficking.

The state representative from Nashville said the state needs to conduct a review of prison growth and work to keep in custody people who belong there.

Steel also said the state needs to provide job training for prisoners so they are not set up to fail once they are released.
