After rockets, Israeli military strikes Gaza

JERUSALEM — The Israeli military says it has struck sites in Gaza following rocket fire.

The military said early Thursday (late Wednesday central time) it was targeting "terror sites" across Gaza.

The military says at least five rockets were launched at Israel in the lead-up to the end of a temporary cease-fire.

Egypt said earlier that Israel and Hamas had agreed to extend the truce for another five days. It was not clear if the fighting would unravel the cease-fire.

Israel had no immediate comment on the extension.
