Harrison teen dies in U.S. 62 crash

A Harrison teenager died Tuesday after her 2003 Buick crossed over the centerline along U.S. 62 in Boone County, authorities say.

Taylor Michelle Oleary, 17, was driving east on U.S. 62about 3:33 p.m. when her car crossed into the westbound lane, according to an Arkansas State Police report.

Linda K. Marcum, 58, swerved to the left in her 2007 Volvo to avoid hitting Oleary, the report states. The teen hit Marcum’s car with the front of her vehicle.

Oleary died from unspecified injuries.

Conditions were described as clear and dry at the time of the accident.

Oleary’s death was the 265th in a traffic accident in Arkansas so far this year, according to preliminary figures.
