Castilaw joins ASU radio team

Former Arkansas State center Tom Castilaw has joined the EAB Red Wolves Radio Network and will serve as sideline reporter during ASU football games this season, the school announced Friday.

Castilaw lettered for ASU in 2007 and in 2009-2011, and will join play-by-play announcer Matt Stolz and analyst Bill Keedy during broadcasts.

Castilaw was named first-team All-Sun Belt Conference in 2011 when he helped lead the Red Wolves to a Sun Belt championship and an appearance in the GoDaddy.com Bowl.

FISHING

Rookie leads Forrest Wood Cup

Phillip Jarabeck, a rookie from Lynchburg, Va., leads the field going into the third day of the Forrest Wood Cup at Lake Murray in Columbia, S.C.

Jarabeck caught five fish Friday and weighed in 17-0 pounds to push his two-day total 26-4. That gave him a slim lead over Brent Ehrler of Redlands, Calif., who weighed in a five-fish stringer that weighed 12-7 and pushed his total to 25-12. Bryan Thrift of Shelby, N.C., brought in a 10-7 stringer and is third at 25-0.

Mark Rose of West Memphis was the lone Arkansan to advance to the weekend. Rose weighed in 9-7 on the first day and followed that with a 10-8 stringer Friday to bring his total to 19-15, which left him in 13th place.

Arkansans missing the cut were Benton’s Stetson Blaylock, who finished 27th at 13-15, Harrison’s Robbie Dodson, who finished 35th at 10-8, and Bismarck’s Spencer Shuffield, who finished 44th with 3-12.

Only the top 20 anglers advanced to the weekend.
