Conway Ward 2 aldermen to meet public

CONWAY -- An informational meeting will be held Wednesday for residents of Conway's Ward 2 at the main branch of the Faulkner County Library on Tyler Street.

Aldermen Wes Pruitt and Shelley Mehl are hosts for the annual meeting, which begins at 5:30 p.m.

The aldermen plan to share information about a proposed sales tax rededication, street projects and development projects in the city, according to a news release from the mayor's office. Representatives from Conway's planning and streets departments will attend.

Ward 2 includes Conway's northeastern section north of Oak Street and east of Salem Road.

Conway voters will decide Sept. 9 whether to extend a one-eighth percent sales tax to help finance street improvements, including an overpass aimed at providing better access to a planned mixed-use development featuring shops, restaurants and other businesses at the site of the city's old airport.
