A 26-year-old Dover woman died Sunday when her vehicle ran off the road and hit a tree, police said.
It happened about 11:20 a.m. as Leah J. Pate drove a 1994 Chevrolet south on Arkansas 7 north of Dover, according to an Arkansas State Police report.
Authorities say the Chevrolet veered out of control in a curve, left the highway and hit a tree. Pate died at the scene.
Conditions at the time were said to be clear and dry.
The death was the 271st in a traffic crash in Arkansas so far this year.
