A large excavator being unloaded from a truck flipped Monday on an Interstate 430 off-ramp, trapping the operator and blocking the road.
It happened before 9:30 a.m. at the southbound exit ramp to Rodney Parham Road.
Arkansas Highway and Transportation officials on the scene said crews were trying to unload the trackhoe excavator for scheduled work in the area when it flipped off a flatbed truck, landing on its side just off the road.
Firefighters had to free the operator. He was taken from the scene by ambulance. The extent of his injuries wasn't clear.
The off-ramp remained blocked after 10 a.m. while crews awaited a tow truck to remove the toppled equipment.
