Work on LR interstate exits to require overnight closures

Work on the Interstate 30/Interstate 430 interchange in Little Rock will require a series of overnight lane closures beginning tonight, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.

Crews constructing new exit ramps on I-30 and I-430 to access Otter Creek and Mabelvale West roads will require traffic to be reduced to one lane from Baseline Road to the interchange and from Stagecoach Road to the interchange.

In both cases, crews will place a precast barrier wall along the outside lane to accommodate ramp construction, the department said.

Beginning at 8 p.m. today, the westbound outside and center lanes of I-30 between Baseline and the interchange will be closed. The closure is expected to last until 7 a.m.

Also during the same hours, the I-430 southbound outside lane between Stagecoach and the interchange will be closed.

During the same time period Wednesday night and Thursday morning, that section of I-430 will see the outside and center lanes closed.

Crews will return to I-30 from 8 p.m. Thursday to 7 a.m. Friday to close the westbound outside and center lanes.

All work will be dependent upon the weather, the department said.

McGeorge Contracting Co. Inc. of Pine Bluff has the $13.4 million project to redo the interchange. It is expected to be completed by next spring.
