Crochet for Beginners

Jazz Concert

HOT SPRINGS — The Arkansas Jazz Experience combo will present a special guest for a performance Friday at the historic Quapaw Bathhouse. Light snacks and a cash bar will be provided. Bridge Tournament

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Village Card Club will hold its Silver Lode Sectional bridge tournament Friday through Sunday at Casa de Carta. The tournament is open to all novice and intermediate 0-500 nonlife master duplicate-bridge players, who will compete with players at their level. Games will begin at 9:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The fee to play is $11 per game for American Contract Bridge League members and $14 for nonmembers. Sunday will feature stratified Swiss Team games at 9:30 a.m. The fee is $120 per team and includes a hot lunch. Awards Banquet

BRYANT — The Annual Governor’s Conservation Achievement Awards Banquet will be held at 4 p.m. at 6401 Boone Road. Gospel Music Singing

HOT SPRINGS — The Hickory Hill Park Gospel Music Singing will be held Saturday in the park’s outdoor amphitheater at 216 Bryant Road, outside of Hot Springs. Celebrity Waiter Event

BRYANT — Relay for Life of Saline County will host its fifth annual Celebrity Waiter fundraiser from 5-8 p.m. at Larry’s Pizza. Donations and tips given to waiters throughout the evening will benefit the 2014 Relay for Life, the American Cancer Society’s largest annual fundraiser. HOT SPRINGS — Merchants and residents of Park Avenue will present a series of festivals from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. the second Saturday of the month through September. Vendors will offer food, crafts, jewelry, tie-dyed items, metal and wood crafts, an organic dog wash, bicycle repair, organic fruits, vegetables, plants and flowers. Entertainment will include music, pottery demonstrations and a plein-air alla-prima painting party.

ARKADELPHIA — A blood drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 28 in the Garrison Center Banquet Room at Henderson State University.
