Traffic alert: Work set on I-40, U.S. 67, Shackleford Road, Big Rock interchange

Lane closures are set at different times over the next week on several Arkansas roads, including Interstate 40, U.S. 67, the Big Rock interchange and Shackleford Road, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said.

The work could be delayed if inclement weather strikes, but it's planned as follows:

  • The two eastbound, inside lanes of I-40 in North Little Rock between mile markers 151 and 154 will be closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday. Crews will be working on the Lakewood Boulevard overpass during the closure.
  • The southbound, outside lane of Shackleford Road in Little Rock will be closed between Markham Street and Financial Centre Parkway from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Thursday. A new sign is being installed in the area.
  • The northbound, inside lane of U.S. 67 between mile markers 10 and 11 in Jacksonville will be closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday. Crews will be working on the railing on the Vandenberg Boulevard overpass.
  • Overnight restrictions will be in place at the Big Rock Interchange where Interstates 630 and 430 meet Sunday night through Friday morning. First, the outside lane of eastbound Financial Centre Parkway and eastbound Interstate 630 between Hermitage Road and the Baptist Health ramp will be shut while crews paint the I-630 westbound to I-430 southbound bridge. After that is completed, the eastbound and westbound inside lanes of Financial Centre Parkway between Hermitage Road to Shackleford Road will be closed for the removal of safety platforms in the area. The closures will last from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night.

Motorists are asked to use caution through all construction zones.
