• Pitcher DJ Baxendale (Arkansas Razorbacks/Jacksonville) was activated from the disabled list Thursday by the Fort Myers Miracle (A+ Twins). Baxendale, who was reassigned to the Twins' Gulf Coast League rookie team to rehab a right biceps strain, allowed 1 run on 1 hit with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts in 2 appearances totaling 7 innings for the rookie league team.
• Pitcher Tanner Bailey (LR Christian) was placed on the disabled list Aug. 12 by the Lakeland Flying Tigers (A+ Tigers). Bailey, who started the season with Class A Connecticut, was sent to the Tigers' Gulf Coast League rookie team July 25 and promptly sent to Lakeland on July 28.
• Pitcher Blake Parker (Arkansas Razorbacks/Fayetteville) continues to bounce back and forth between the Chicago Cubs and Class AAA Iowa. He was recalled to Chicago on Thursday and optioned back to Iowa on Friday.
• Catcher James McCann (Arkansas Razorbacks) leads all International League catchers with a .350 on-base percentage this season.
