Stocking the pantry
The Little Rock Farmers Market is partnering with the Arkansas Food Bank to stock the food pantry at Wakefield Elementary School, 3-7 p.m. today in the River Market Pavilions, behind the Ottenheimer Market Hall, 400 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock.
Patrons and donors can buy fresh food to donate, as Wakefield has a refrigerator. The food is distributed to low-income families with children in the school.

Jazz in the Park
The Little Rock Convention and Visitors Bureau and the River Market are bringing back Jazz in the Park, 6-8 p.m. Wednesdays in September at the History Pavilion, just west of the First Security Amphitheater, in Little Rock's Riverfront Park. (Closest entry point is on Ottenheimer Drive off of President Clinton Avenue.)

• Sept. 10: Julia Buckingham Group
• Sept. 17: The Tri Tones
• Sept. 24: The Brandon Dorris Quintet
Admission is free; lawn chairs and blankets are welcome (there is some seating in the natural stone amphitheater), but no coolers. Beer, wine, soft drinks and water will be for sale; a portion of the proceeds goes to benefit Sculpture at the River Market. In case of rain, the performances will move to the West Pavilion.
