Successful festivals tend to grow and expand, and the Hot Springs Blues Festival, marking its 18th year this weekend, is no exception, Jack W. Hill writes in Thursday's Arkansas Weekend section. The fest began as a one-day gathering and is now spread out over four days, and it has added some other blues-related flourishes, such as workshops and after parties in local venues.
Spa City Blues Society president David Hughes says, "We have a great lineup for the fest this year. Not a lot of household names but there is a lot of great music, a lot of award-winning music. This will be one of the best festivals in terms of true musicianship that we’ve put on."
