Police: Magnolia man arrested in shooting

MAGNOLIA — Police have arrested a man who they say is responsible for the killing of a Southern Arkansas University football player and another man.

Authorities on Tuesday charged 20-year-old Byron Dunn of Magnolia with a terroristic act. They haven't specified how he was involved.

Twenty-three-year-old wide receiver Brandon Hobdy and 24-year-old former student Wayne Payton were fatally shot Sunday. They were killed outside a back-to-school party near Magnolia.

University police chief Anthony Williams told KSLA-TV more people could be arrested. Authorities reported several people were kicked out of the party after a fight.

Dunn is being held in lieu of $1 million bond. Online jail records didn't indicate an attorney.
