Henderson State University Blood Drive

ARKADELPHIA — A blood drive will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Garrison Center Banquet Room at Henderson State University. Anyone who is healthy and at least 16 years old may donate blood. A summer zoo-themed T-shirt will be given to each donor. Health screenings and donor reward points, redeemable in the Arkansas Blood Institute’s online store, will also be provided to donors. Gangster Museum Speaker Presentation

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — Robert Raines, director of The Gangster Museum of America, will speak at the Friends of the Coronado Center Library meeting at 4 p.m. in Room 6 of the Coronado Community Center. National Charity League Meeting

BENTON — The National Charity League Inc. will meet at 6:30 p.m. at the Bob Herzfeld Memorial Library to discuss beginning a new chapter in the area. Art Exhibit

ARKADELPHIA — The Arkadelphia Arts Center’s current exhibit, Arkansas Champion Trees: An Artist’s Journey, by artist Linda Williams Palmer, is showing through Oct. 4. The exhibit includes large colored-pencil drawings, photo-documentation of the depicted trees and detail drawings, accompanied by short anecdotes and stories. America’s Splendid Nature Exhibit

HOT SPRINGS — The work of Hot Springs Village artists Linda Shearer and Caryl Joy Young will be on exhibit through Sunday at The Artists’ Workshop Gallery, 610 Central Ave. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and from noon to 6 p.m. Sundays. The gallery is closed Wednesdays.

Ageless Bikers Club

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Ageless Bikers Club holds bicycle rides at 8 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. There are eight different 20-mile rides on relatively flat, quiet country roads. For more information or to sign up for a ride, visit hsvabc.weebly.com.

Mystic Creatures Exhibit

HOT SPRINGS — Garvan Woodland Gardens presents the exhibit Mystic Creatures: Topiary Art Meets Imagination from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Sunday. Admission is free for members, $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 6-12, and free for children 5 and younger. For more information, call (501) 262-9606.

SummerFest

HOT SPRINGS — Merchants and residents of Park Avenue will present a series of festivals from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. the second Saturday of the month through September. Vendors will offer food, crafts, jewelry, tie-dyed items, metal and wood crafts, an organic dog wash, bicycle repair, organic fruits, vegetables, plants and flowers. Entertainment will include music, pottery demonstrations and a plein-air alla-prima painting party.

Merry Mixers Dance Club

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Hot Springs Village Merry Mixers dance to live music from 7:30-10:30 p.m. the first and third Saturdays of every month at the Coronado Community Center. A lesson is held at 7 p.m. on the third Saturday. Admission is $7.50 for first-Saturday dances and $10 for third-Saturday dances. Club members receive a discount for the season. Rhythmic Interactive Percussion

HOT SPRINGS — The Rhythmic Interactive Percussion musical event takes place from 5-9 p.m. Sundays at Kenneth Adair Park, 358 Central Ave. Participation is encouraged as ensemble members pass out drums, tambourines, maracas and more to audience members. Memorial Golf Tournament

HOT SPRINGS — The 17th annual Terry Paul Thode Lupus Memorial Golf Tournament will be held Sept. 13 at Diamondhead Country Club. The tourney will benefit the Lupus Foundation of Arkansas Inc. The tournament has a four-person scramble format and can accommodate teams that are all men, all women or a mix. Participants can sign up as singles or teams. Barbershop Chorus Concert

HOT SPRINGS — The Fun City Chorus of Hot Springs, a group of about 40 men of all ages who are dedicated to singing a cappella music in the barbershop harmony style, will perform at 7 p.m. Sept. 13 in Horner Hall at the Hot Springs Convention Center.
