2nd man arrested in double slaying

MAGNOLIA -- Police have arrested a second person in the fatal shootings Sunday of a Southern Arkansas University football player and a former student.

Timothy Johnson, 23, of Camden was charged Thursday with a terroristic act, the Columbia County sheriff's office said in a statement. Byron Dunn, 20, of Magnolia was arrested late Monday on a charge of committing a terroristic act.

SAU wide receiver Brandon Hobdy, 23, of Garland, Texas, and former SAU student Wayne Payton, 24, of McNeil were killed early Sunday outside a back-to-school party at the Veterans of Foreign Wars building near Magnolia.

Police were called about 1:13 a.m. about a fight at the "VFW hut," and gunfire was reported while officers were en route.

Dunn and Johnson were each held in lieu of $1 million bond.
