Three Arby's employees were held at gunpoint at the Chenal Parkway location in Little Rock by two male suspects who attempted to rape one employee and shot twice at another, police said.

Jeremy James, 25, of Little Rock, Christine Crumpton, 50, also of Little Rock, and a third victim not named, were all held at an Arby's for more than two hours Saturday morning as two juvenile assailants attempted to rob the location, a Little Rock Police report said. One suspect was taken into police custody after attempting to escape, the report said. The other was taken to Baptist Health Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The two suspects entered the Arby's at 15510 Chenal Parkway about 12:30 a.m., forcing James and Crumpton, who were exiting the restaurant, back in at gunpoint, according to the report. The suspects demanded James open the restaurant's safe, while Crumpton was forced to the ground at gunpoint and told that if she moved she would be killed, the report said.

A third female victim was forced into the bathroom of the Arby's, where one of the suspects tried to rape her and force her to perform oral sex, the official report said.

As James attempted to open the safe, one assailant became angry when the safe could not be opened as it was on a time delay, the report said. James then tried to open the safe using various tools, but when he was unsuccessful, the assailant took him outside and fired a single bullet him, police said. According to the report, the bullet missed James and the assailant took him back inside and again fired a shot at James' head. The second shot also missed.

The suspects demanded James' keys to his vehicle and tried to flee from the Arby's, the report said. The vehicle crashed into another vehicle while driving the wrong way down the 13000 block of Chenal Parkway.

The suspect who was driving attempted to escape but was later found by police, the report said. The driver was not accused in the attempted rape, police said.

The passenger, who has not been charged yet as he is undergoing a medical procedure, suffered life-threatening injuries and is being held under officer supervision at Baptist Health.

The vehicle the suspects crashed into was flipped onto its nose, but the driver was rescued and did not suffer life-threatening injuries.

Officers are unsure when the suspect in the hospital will be out of surgery.
