LR man shot in attempted robbery

A Little Rock man was shot in the finger Monday afternoon after a man attempted to rob him and two people in a car with him, police say.

About 4:30 p.m., James Cribbs, 28, Francisco Lozano, 19, of Little Rock and Arturo Lozano, 26, of North Little Rock were sitting outside a residence at 12908 Quail Creek Road in a silver 2014 GMC Terrain, according to a Little Rock Police Department report.

A medium-complected black man tried to rob the men and began shooting at them, the report states.

Francisco Lozano was struck in the right finger, and Cribbs ran to the front door of the house at 13120 Quail Creek Road and collapsed, police said.

Both Francisco and Arturo Lozano hid behind the house at 12908 Quail Creek Road, where police found them, and they were taken into custody for questioning.

Cribbs was taken to UAMS Medical Center and Francisco Lozano was taken to CHI St. Vincent for treatment of their non-life-threatening injuries, according to the report.

The robber stands about 5-foot-10, has military-style black hair, and was last seen wearing a black coat and jeans, police said.

No arrests have been made.
