Man pleads guilty in drug, chase case

TEXARKANA — An Arkansas man who authorities say tossed crack cocaine out of his car window while fleeing a sobriety checkpoint has pleaded guilty.

The Texarkana Gazette reported that 20-year-old Brandon Waller entered the plea in Texarkana on Monday. Authorities say he made a U-turn when he saw the checkpoint in Hempstead County in September 2013.

Authorities say Waller fled at speeds near 100 mph before tossing a bag with 280 grams of crack cocaine. Waller later told officers he planned to sell the drugs in Magnolia.

Waller faces up to life in federal prison when he is sentenced.
