It's official: The Arkansas State Red Wolves are returning to Mobile, Ala., to play in the GoDaddy Bowl for the fourth year in a row.

Arkansas State announced in a Wednesday afternoon news conference that it had accepted an invitation to play in the bowl, confirming a report in Wednesday's Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

Athletic Director Terry Mohajir said the team earned and deserved the bowl berth. He dismissed a question about whether fans might be tired of going to the same bowl, noting some teams won't go to bowls at all.

"The fact that we're going is exciting," he said. "That should energize our fan base and the Red Wolf community and Red Wolf fan base to get down there."

Head coach Blake Anderson added the Jan. 4 timing of the game allows players to rest up and be healthier than the Red Wolves have been since early in the season.

The Red Wolves capped a 7-5 season with a win against New Mexico State on Saturday. It marked the team's fourth consecutive year with a winning record.

Arkansas State lost 38-20 to Northern Illinois in the 2012 GoDaddy Bowl but posted wins over Kent State in 2013 and Ball State earlier this year.
