Events set to mark Hutchinson oath

Asa Hutchinson's office released a list of events Wednesday for Hutchinson's inauguration as the 46th governor of Arkansas.

The inauguration is scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Jan. 13, in the House Chamber at the Capitol. The public is invited to a service beforehand from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church at 501 N. Shackleford Road in Little Rock.

After Hutchinson takes the oath, he is to give an inaugural address on the Capitol steps at noon, followed by a reception in the rotunda at 1 p.m.

The Republican Party of Arkansas also will host several events around the governor's inauguration starting with a "Red, White & BBQ" party Jan. 12 from 7-9 p.m. at the Museum of Discovery on President Clinton Avenue. Tickets to the event are $25 each.

The party also will hold an inaugural ball at the Statehouse Convention Center. Tickets are $100 for the ball, which is to run 6:30-10 p.m.
