3rd person dies in Arkansas house explosion

LAKE CITY — A third person has died following a Craighead County house explosion in November that seriously injured others.

The Jonesboro Sun reports 49-year-old Ellis Eaton died this week at a Memphis hospital. Craighead County Assistant Chief Deputy Justin Rolland says a gas leak inside the home caused the Nov. 29 explosion. Eleven-year-old Slade Owen Gilley and 64-year-old Deborah Gilley died after being trapped inside the home.

Rolland says the explosion occurred while Eaton helped hook up a gas line to a propane tank.

Twelve-year-old Shelby Gilley was treated for serious burn injuries at a Memphis hospital and released. Sixty-six-year-old Gary Gilley was in critical condition Thursday at a Memphis hospital.
