Named in stabbing, woman taken to jail

Little Rock police arrested a woman Wednesday on accusations that she stabbed a woman outside a market last month.

Dominique Norris, 25, was charged with second-degree battery. Ashley Neely told police Norris randomly attacked her Nov. 3 outside Our Community Market at 1901 Wright Ave., according to a police report.

Neely, 26, said she was walking into the store when Norris began hitting her for no reason, according to the report. Neely was stabbed with an "unknown object" in the thigh, groin, arm and eye, the report said.

Neely was taken to UAMS Medical Center for injuries that were not life-threatening.

Investigators viewed footage of the attack recorded by store surveillance cameras, the report states.

Police arrested Norris in Jacksonville about 8:15 p.m. Wednesday. She was not listed on the Pulaski County jail roster late Thursday.

Picked-on boy had BB gun, report says

Little Rock police were called to Brady Elementary School, 7915 W. Markham St., on Wednesday on a report that an 8-year-old student had taken a "semi-automatic looking BB gun" to the school.

Officers responded to the call at 9:12 a.m. According to a report, Little Rock School District security officials told officers that the student took the gun to school because other kids had been harassing and "picking" on him.
