4 killed in wrecks on state roadways

A Mountain Home man was found dead and his truck overturned in the water Sunday, according to the Baxter County sheriff's office.

A Norfork River guide reported about 7:30 a.m. that a truck had run off County Road 63 in Norfork, according to a news release.

Deputies determined Brandon Wolf, 28, was driving west when his Chevrolet pickup left the road, went down an embankment and overturned. Wolf was pronounced dead at the scene.

The sheriff's office was investigating the cause of the accident Sunday.

Two people were killed and two others injured in a three-vehicle accident Saturday, according to Arkansas State Police.

The accident occurred about 5:30 p.m on Arkansas 49 near Carriage Hill Drive in Paragould.

Jose Marcias-Oyervides, 29, of Jonesboro was driving a Dodge south on Arkansas 49. He and the driver of a Kia Optima, also going south, attempted to evade a northbound GMC Sierra that was in the turn lane.

Marcias-Oyervides hit the Sierra head-on, police said.

Marcias-Oyervides was injured, and two of his passengers -- Matthew Middleton and Jennifer Macias, both 28 and from Jonesboro -- were killed, police said.

The driver of the Sierra, 70-year-old Gary Eaker of Paragould, was also injured.

Eaker and Marcias-Oyervides were transported to NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.

State police also reported a pedestrian was struck and killed Friday in Pine Bluff.

Henry Hayes, 41, of Pine Bluff was yelling and running about 9 p.m. on Blake Street near 19th Avenue when a northbound Cadillac struck him, police said.

Hayes was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Cadillac, 55-year-old Montell Ward of Pine Bluff, was not injured.

Police reported it was misty and the roads were wet at the time of the accident.
