A Rogers 2-year-old who was abducted early Thursday morning was found safe in Oklahoma Thursday afternoon, the Rogers Police Department said in a statement.

Someone who had seen the Amber Alert noticed Brent Wilks' vehicle and called 911. The Atoka Police Department stopped Wilks and recovered the child, police said. Wilks, 30, of Rogers, was arrested.

Police responded to a disturbance at 2:37 a.m. at 2703 Highlands Drive. There, they met with a woman who said she got in a fight with her roommate, who then left with her 2-year-old child, police said.

An Amber Alert said Wilks is on parole.

Police initially said Wilks was possibly intoxicated and driving a car with flat tires, but later said that information was incorrect. The woman told police that Wilks is the manager of B & G Liquor in Rogers.

Benton County court records show Wilks was convicted in 2007 of felony possession of cocaine and marijuana with intent to deliver. Deputies found 17 grams of marijuana, 11 grams of cocaine and $2,750 in cash during a traffic stop, the records show.
