Rain expected to clear by Saturday

More rain is headed for a large part of the state Friday, but weather officials believe the brunt of the precipitation will be out of the state by Saturday.

The bulk of the rain will affect the southern part of the state, but temperatures will drop in the north, creating cold enough air for wintry precipitation, National Weather Service warning coordination meteorologist, John Robinson said. This means the northern part of the state may see a mix of rain, sleet, or snow, forecasters said.

The greatest amount of rainfall will be in the south, where Robinson expects to see about an inch of rainfall.
