Arkansas State University and Mid-South Community College are one step closer to completing a merger agreement.
Trustees for ASU and Mid-South have scheduled meetings for Jan. 9 to consider the merger plan, ASU’s Vice President for Strategic Communications and Economic Development Jeff Hankins said in a statement.
The locations and times for those meetings have yet to be determined, Hankins said.
“Discussions with constituents have been positive and productive,” ASU System President Charles L. Welch said in a news release. “We haven’t identified any major issues."
If approved by the boards and the Higher Learning Commission, the merger would be effective July 1.
