Stuart Delery is an acting associate attorney general. An Associated Press article in some editions Thursday about arrests in a deadly meningitis outbreak misidentified the federal official's job title.

A New York Times article published Sunday about whether Pope Francis believes that animals go to heaven erred in describing when Francis spoke and what he said. Francis, speaking to a general audience at the Vatican on Nov. 26, said, “The Holy Scripture teaches us that the fulfillment of this wonderful design also affects everything around us.” It was not Francis but Pope Paul VI who reportedly told a child whose dog had died, “One day, we will see our animals again in the eternity of Christ.
