No white Christmas for Arkansas, forecasters say

Arkansas can put away any thoughts of a White Christmas this year, the National Weather Service said.

John Robinson, warning coordinator for the National Weather Service, said Friday that there is no chance for snow on Christmas.

“We are thinking it’s going to be too warm for that,” Robinson said.

John Lewis, a senior forecaster with the National Weather Service, agreed.

“No, it won’t snow on Christmas,” Lewis said. “The snow will get about as close as central Missouri.”

Lewis said there will be a storm coming through but that will stay in states far northeast of Arkansas. Lewis added that temperatures should be seasonal on Christmas, hanging out in the low 50s.

“So, it’s really not even going to be that cold on Christmas,” Lewis said.
