Bid for Roosevelt Road bridge replacement approved

The Arkansas Highway Commission has approved a bid to replace a bridge in Pulaski County, officials announced Monday.

James Construction Group LLC of Baton Rouge was awarded the contract at $10,618,035.94, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department said in a statemennt.

Crews will replace the Roosevelt Road bridge on U.S. 70 that spans the Union Pacific Railroad west of the State Fairgrounds.

Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks and completed in 2016.
