Correction: Because of incorrect information provided by the North Little Rock Police Department, the last name and age of the Shorter Gardens shooting victim were incorrect in a previous version of this story.

Two people were found dead of apparent gunshot wounds at separate scenes in North Little Rock on Wednesday night, authorities said.

It wasn't immediately known whether the shootings were related.

Officers were first called about 10 p.m. to the Shorter Gardens apartment complex on Beech Street, where 27-year-old Alex Booker of Little Rock was found dead. A passerby called police.

Less than an hour later, officers were called to 2270 E. Broadway St., where a second deceased person was found. That victim's name hasn't been released pending notification of family.

A police spokesman said it's "too early" to know whether the crimes are connected. Additional details may be released later Thursday, he added.

Both victims appeared to have been fatally shot, police said.
