Arkansan killed, 2 teens hurt in Shreveport shooting

SHREVEPORT — A shooting in downtown Shreveport has left one man dead and two teenagers recovering from gunshot wounds.

Police spokesman Bill Goodin said it happened early Friday morning at a downtown hotel parking lot. Goodin said when officers arrived they found two 16-year-olds in different parts of the lot. One was wounded in the leg; the other in the butt.

Goodin said a short time later officers found 52-year-old Robert D. Swenson, of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas, with a wound in his chest. He died later at a hospital.

Goodin said the teenagers were attending a Christmas party at the hotel when an altercation broke out between at least two groups of partygoers, but it was unclear whether they were involved in the shooting.

Investigators believe Swenson was an innocent bystander.
