Missouri Photojournalism Hall of Fame site closes

WASHINGTON, Mo. — The Missouri Photojournalism Hall of Fame is closing its doors in Washington, Mo., with tentative plans to reopen at some point at the University of Missouri School of Journalism in Columbia.

The Washington Missourian reported that a specific location in Columbia is being sought. Bill Miller Sr., editor and publisher of the Missourian and a founder of the Hall of Fame, said the move to Columbia will allow journalism students better access to the work of the inductees, and the number of visitors will increase.

The Hall of Fame has inducted 44 photojournalists in its 10 years in Washington. Miller said many photos and artifacts were donated, and there simply wasn't enough room at the Washington site to display them all.
